Election 2026:
School Board
Who is best for the students of Lyon County?
Listen to what they’re talking about here
About an hour and a half into the September Lyon County School Board of Trustees meeting, Agenda Item #14 was presented by Trustee Day for a second reading. The subject was a revision to the school board’s evaluation system, which would include an opt-in survey from students and parents to hold the board accountable and provide better feedback.
Since her appointment to fill a resigned seat, Kallie Day has proven to be extremely competent, hitting the ground running as if she’d served in that seat for years. Noticeably, a couple of her fellow trustees have been resistant to her every move, as their financial supporter / phantom menace has other butts planned for that seat. Hendrix and Parsons are suspiciously pushing back really hard against the proposed measure to allow students and parents to hold them accountable.
I encourage you all to take a moment to watch the above video, which is roughly set to the appropriate time to hear them debate the survey Day is proposing.
The Phantom Menace

School Board Trustees Hendrix, Parsons, Carson, and Whisler are all there, in part, from the support of a man named Greg Clausen, as is Trustee Hendrix’s wife, County Commissioner Tammy Hendrix. Clausen was also the brain behind the infamous the ‘Save Lyon Schools’ facebook page, in which he tried to turn the parents of students against specific board members and the superintendent.
During Clausen’s reign of terror against the schools, many frivolous complaints to the AG were filed against his targets, knowing the answer wouldn’t come until after the election. And of course, they were all dismissed for the BS they were. Calvary Chapel Dayton Valley participated in the theatrics by pushing their flock to attend school board meetings to help demonize Clausen’s targeted board members.

The geriatric California transplants of Calvary Chapel showed up in numbers, posing as parents of students. They read Clausen’s scripts in public comments. A few of them stood out. One jolly fellow was always in the front row, filming board members in every meeting. Jim Davis and his wife Deanne were regular commenters during the months of Clausen’s attack. Both are leaders of Calvary’s Community Impact Team – a political faction of the so-called church, which has been working for years to fill county seats with their approved Evangelicals. Also starring from CCDV, was their secretary Sandy, and a new guy who seems like he would tell the Starbucks barista about his multiple PHDs, Dr. Eric Nelson. These people are currently showing up to argue against Day’s proposed accountability measure.
Now let’s go back to church!
Last round:
During the last election cycle, I was famously walked out of the side door of Calvary Chapel Dayton Valley as soon as I walked in. The armed men who quickly surrounded me, told me I was not allowed to attend the public candidate meet and greet, where candidates for school board were set up with tables, and would be taking the stage for a show. The Calvary staff as apparently not happy about me shining a spotlight on their operation in progress, to run out certain trustees and replace them with Evangelicals.

This round:
So far in this cycle, while I haven’t heard Clausen’s name mentioned. I also see the Vince Spoon and Michael Moore’s campaign expense reports don’t math, when I look at the number of expensive 4×8 signs posted all over Lyon County. Methinks someone is being secretive with their involvement after I made him locally famous last time.
One of the non-cult backed trustees, Darin Farr, lost to Calvary’s guy in the primary, so now their pick Michael Moore is running against Pete Chapin.
Kallie Day is defending her appointed seat against Vince Spoon, who relies heavily on his time in the US Marines and his church connections to win a seat on the school board. Unlike Spoon, Day is a lifelong resident of the area, even having graduated from Dayton High School. Her education and background make her a perfect fit for this nonpartisan position.
I’m all for Trustee Day keeping this seat. The ex Marine with a mullet, screaming he’s a Republican in front of American flags [for this nonpartisan position], who seems to have zero qualifying experience to be on any school board, doesn’t impress me. It seems like the cult could have done better than him!
If you watched the video provided at the beginning of this article, you may have noticed Jim Davis in the public comments, desperately trying to convince the board to vote against Trustee Day’s accountability survey. In the video below, we see him host the show for this year at Calvary Chapel. While I am still banned from their church grounds for publicly disagreeing with their political endorsements on Facebook, I still enjoy watching the YouTube. In this one, Jim wrote questions to the candidates that singled out Trustee Day’s survey, purposefully confusing it with a separate agenda item that was also a survey. Kallie Day handled herself like a champ, pointing out Jim’s deception while on stage. Bravo!
One of the attendees of the 2026 Calvary Chapel “public” (not you, Phil) candidate meet and greet took a photo of the program they provided, complete with ads from the cult on how to vote.

Talk about it
