Salary Range*:

$29.84 – $44.78 per hour (Employee/Employer Paid PERS Retirement)

$24.93 – $37.41 per hour (Employer Paid PERS Retirement)

Lyon County is hiring a Fleet Services Technician to perform maintenance and repair on vehicles and equipment that support public operations. Responsibilities include diagnostics, preventive maintenance, major mechanical repairs, field service, and completion of computerized work orders. This role works closely with County departments to ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and operational while maintaining professional, cooperative working relationships.

Work includes gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles, trucks, and construction equipment, covering engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical, A/C, fuel, and emissions systems. Additional duties include fabrication and welding, generator support, parts procurement, recordkeeping, and compliance with shop safety standards.

This is a safety-sensitive position. The selected candidate is subject to a pre-employment drug test and random drug tests throughout employment.
