The International Camel and Ostrich Races returns to the track September 6-8, 2024, for its 65th year of good old-fashioned Virginia City fun. This is a Nevada tradition and one of the must-see events in the West. The family-favorite event takes place at the Virginia City Fairgrounds and Arena and features food trucks serving up carnival-style treats, craft and artist vendors, a wide variety of beverages at the event bars, official Camel Races merch, and camel rides for that must-have photo-op.

Get up close to camels, ostriches, zebras, emus, and more as professional and amateur jockeys gallop, swerve, and falter their way to the finish line. This is more than a wacky spectator sport. The crowds compete against each other to win prizes from Virginia City merchants.

• Friday, September 6th – Hot Camel Nights performance starting at 5 p.m.
• Saturday, September 7th – 2 shows, the first show starting at 10 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m.
• Saturday, September 7th – Camel Hump on C Street from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
• Sunday, September 8th – Family Day and free camel rides for the first 100 kids, with the show starting at 12 p.m.
