Lyon County’s Public Information Outlaw

Mark Krueger

For Lyon County District Attorney

My platform:

Proven Prosecutor. Protecting Families. Proven Leader.

Mark is a prosecutor with more than 25 years of legal experience in Northern Nevada. He previously served six years as Chief Deputy District Attorney in Lyon County, where he prosecuted a wide range of criminal cases including homicide, drug trafficking, and crimes against children and vulnerable adults. Over the course of his career, he has tried more than 40 criminal jury trials. In one case, he secured a sentence of 375 years to life, the longest sentence in Lyon County history. He was also the first prosecutor in Nevada to obtain a conviction under state law for supplying drugs resulting in a fatal overdose.

Markโ€™s career has been focused on protecting victims and working closely with law enforcement to hold offenders accountable. In one case, he helped law enforcement rescue several severely neglected horses from unsafe conditions. After rehabilitation, the horses were placed in safe homes.

He currently serves as Chief Deputy Attorney General, Bureau of Consumer Protection, where he works on statewide efforts to protect Nevada families. He is involved in efforts to hold online platforms accountable for harms to children. He played a key role in Nevadaโ€™s landmark settlement with the online gaming platform Roblox to strengthen protections for children online and secure over $10 million for youth programs, online safety education, and law enforcement support. He has also helped secure more than $1.2 billion through Nevadaโ€™s opioid litigation to address the impacts of the opioid crisis on Nevada families and communities.

If elected District Attorney, Mark will create a Victim-Witness Advocate position to help victims navigate the court process and stay informed about their cases. He also plans to expand fraud and scam prevention education for seniors and vulnerable residents and strengthen partnerships with law enforcement to enhance public safety.

Mark has served as a trusted advisor to local government and law enforcement, trained law enforcement cadets through Nevada POST, and works as a part-time professor at Western Nevada College and Truckee Meadows Community College. He has also drafted numerous state laws and provisions of the Lyon County Code and contributed to a published book focused on improving the investigation and prosecution of crimes against children.

Mark is endorsed by Lyon County Sheriff Brad Pope.
